Finger Lakes State Park
WWW (Wow What a Weekend!)
If you are into ATV riding, fishing, and camping you need to plan a trip to Finger Lakes State Park just north of Columbia off highway 63.  The Park features over seventy miles of riding trails, fully equipped camping facilities, and lots of water for fishing and swimming.  This is a unique State park because of the off road riding that is available.  It is one of only two parks like this in the state.  There are frequently organized races on weekends in the summer.  The land was originally a strip mine.  The strip mining left some great terrain for off road motorcycle and ATV use.  Full sized four wheel vehicles are not allowed off road.  Although the land is rough and rugged in the trail areas the campgrounds are pleasant and well shaded.

In the heart of the Ozarks near the head waters of the West Fork of the Black River is some of the most beautiful country one will find anywhere in the Ozark Plateau! It is in this area where the off-road enthusiasts can find the Mark Twain National Forest’s 20 mile ORV trail system. This unique trail system is tied in with existing roads to form some of the best and varied riding experience one could ever desire ! The area is a few miles northwest of Centerville and is easily accessed from State Highway 21

TRAIL RIDING

Most trails parallel ridge tops or hollow bottoms with connecting trails crossing side slopes. Some trails provide a greater challenge to the rider then others. All trails are marked with orange diamond - shaped tags, and they are identified with trail number marker posts at beginning points. Closed trails have been posted with a sign or blocked with logs or cut brush piled in the tread way.

CAMPING

There is a developed campground located in the middle of this trail system. Sutton Bluff campground is located on the picturesque West Fork of the Black River approximately 5 miles northwest of Centerville. The campground has 35 campsites are on a “first come, first serve” basis but no drive thru sites. Drinking water flush toilets are there. A host stay there during the open season
