User Guidelines

The MSIN Message Board is designed for your entertainment.  This is a commercial site therefore we will not tolerate any overt criticism of our sponsors or potential sponsors

Messages are not monitored before they are posted.  Messages that exceed the guidelines (listed below) are dealt with if they are found by the MSIN Forums Administrator or if a reasonable complaint is made to the MSIN Administrator. This usually involves (based on the issue):

Posting a reminder of the guidelines
· Closing the thread
· Deleting the thread
· In rare cases, removing the user's ability to post messages temporarily or permanently.

As stated in the registration agreement you make when you join the MSIN Forums, we do reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever.  The guidelines are pretty simple. They are designed to keep topics on track in the Forums and make it a pleasant experience for everyone. When these guidelines have been bent or broken, the MSIN Forums have often lost participants (who've then notified the MSIN Administrator).
The guidelines are very similar to the ones you will find on most successful hunting, fishing, or outdoor community web sites. General familiarity with them and some common sense will help keep the MSIN Forums popular, informative, and busy.

What should I avoid posting?

Inappropriate language:
The MSIN Forums has a system that filters some offensive words. Try not to defeat the system.
Simply use good judgment in this area. Lots of people, young and old, read the Forums.
Personal attacks:
It's not unusual for some of the regular MSIN Forum members to joke with each other or give each other a hard time. That's part of what you'll find in any cafe. However, if everyone isn't in on the joke, then things start to get out of hand. Remember that people can't see your face when they read your post... so they might not know you're joking.  Use good judgment in this area. If a thread seems to be getting out of hand, the MSIN Administrator may drop a line saying so. If things get too out of hand, the thread may be closed. If things get obscene, the thread will be deleted.
Complaints against MSIN employees:
Complaints against MSIN employees will be deleted as soon as they are discovered with no notice.
Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on the MSIN Forums.  However, MSIN SPONSORS  are encouraged to contribute to the MSIN Forums and promote their own businesses.

What can I post?
Obviously, anything on topic with the forum can be posted. However, sometimes there are some gray areas about which people have questions.
Web sites:
It is ok to post your personal web site for Forum members to visit so long as it relates to outdoor activities. A good example is a page showing how you built your duck boat. A bad example is your web site for a get-rich scheme, advertisement, or campaign for political office.
We only ask that you not post excessively on the topic. This includes responding to your own post every few days to bring the thread back to the top of the new thread list.
Posting an avatar:
If you have a picture that is available on the world wide web simply put it's address in the box next to Avatar URL in your Edit Profile under User Control Panel.  We ask that pictures are in jpg. or gif. format and the max. dimensions not to exceed 120 pixels wide or 120 pixels tall.  If you need a place to store a picture on the world wide web we recommend http://www.hunting-pictures.com
