The kids name is Thomas he lives in Columbia he is 16. Thomas is not satisfied doing things half way. He scored big with this buck on opening day of the 2003 season. Thomas hunts with a .308 Steyr Scout rifle with a 2.5 X 10 Swarski Scope. He has taken two big bucks prior to this one. He got a buck that scored 130 when he was 13 and one that scored 137 when he was 14. He passed on taking anything when he was 15 because he did not see any that measured up to his big buck history. Thomas has graduated to the ranks of trophy hunter pretty quick. His father told me he couldn't be more proud of his son. the morning he shot this buck he waited three hours to go get his dad in order to let him hunt the full morning from his stand. His father said he told him the if he had shot a buck that scored in the 160s he probably would have been down to his sons stand to get him to show it off within minutes. Thomas took this deer in Howard County.

The deer in the photo was killed in Buchanon county, west of
Dearborn, where my son Jay lives and works. Jay first spotted this deer
before last years deer season, bowhunted for him all last season with
no
success, then again during the rifle season with no luck.
This bow season, he had a couple of encounters with the buck, but never
had
what Jay felt was a makeable shot with the bow.Jay hunted the area
where he
had been seeing the deer all during this rifle season, and finally on
the
last day,he saw the buck chasing a doe, and made a good shot, the buck
dropped in his tracks.

Jay is a twin, and his brother Jared, also killed a nice buck this
season at
our farm in Vernon county. Taken at our farm near Milo, on
opening weekend of rifle season

This picture was taken in Cunningham, Missouri (Sumner, Swan Lake Area) Left is Andrew and right is Greg. The photographer is Andrew Hood. The two deer were found fighting in the bottoms of the Grand River and were then killed with bows. They have not been officially scored yet.
