WELCOME TO ANTLER ALLEY

Welcome to ANTLER ALLEY! As I like to call it. That is what more and more hunters realize when they decide to head North of the I-70 Interstate to hunt Northern Missouri whitetail bucks.

There is a good reason for that. When you talk about Northern Missouri you talk about whitetail bucks that their body size is only highlighted by an enormous set of antlers. Missouri whitetail deer hunters consistently harvest these huge whitetails in ANTLER ALLEY.

With the top ten counties north of I-70 the area known as ANTLER ALLEY, has produced 754 record book whitetail bucks and counting as entered by Missouri Show-Me Big Bucks Club.

With the No. 1 non-typical whitetail archery harvest by Randy Simonitch coming in at 269 7/8 B&C in Pike County. Also the No. 1 non-typical whitetail rifle harvest by Kevin Thomas coming in at 282 2/8 B&C in Saline County. Both these mammoths of the north where harvested north of I-70 in Missouri.

Now this Scott Fowler buck. No wonder Northern Missouri has become known as ANTLER ALLEY.

So welcome to our 5th year tribute to ANTLER ALLEY and beyond. Horntagger.

SCOTT FOWLER AND THE FOWLER BUCK.

Potential New Archery Record Buck for Missouri.

Here is what we know at this time.
Scott Fowler of Florida may have taken a new #1 Missouri record archery buck September 18th, 2004 while hunting at Poosey Conservation Area in Livingston County. Unofficial green scoring of the buck topped 195. The state record for archery is 191 4/8 which was taken in St Louis County in 1999. It will surely surpass the old Livingston County record of 171 1/8 held by Dick West. His buck was harvested in 1986 with a rifle.

After talking with Scott it will be close. But, not matter how it turns out he deserves a big congratulations. One thing already this will be one of the most intriguing deer hunting stories of all time. Just a little hint. A full set of shed antlers are involved, a video in velvet is involved and the picture above and below is the final proof. Not counting this is not Scott's first or even second P&Y buck.

Here are some general info on the FOWLER BUCK. These are not official measurements but, will give you the awesome nature of this buck.
25 1/2" Inside Spread, 8" and 6 1/2" G1's, 12 1/2" G2's with 5" Diameters or H1's.

Keith Allen

I got this deer the second evening of rifle season. I saw a buck bigger than this one the week before. I was in the same stand and the buck was broad side at twenty yards but he was in too much brush to take a bow shot. My friend was in from Colorado to hunt the last week of bow and the first week of gun. I told him about the buck and he said he hunted the area pretty hard the last week of bow while I was working. Gun season starts and he goes to the same stand and shoots a doe early the first afternoon. The stand I am talking about is primarily an evening stand, twenty yards into the woods, over looking a cut corn field. Sunday rolls around and we are getting ready to go out for the afternoon. My friend says he is tired of hunting that part of the farm and he is going to a different stand, so I went to hunt where I had seen the big one a week earlier. You know the rest of the story. About 4:30 this deer came hauling across the field and into the woods. I whistled a couple of times and he finally slowed down enough to where I felt comfortable shooting. Keith Allen
