Early Sun. Oct.3,2004 I was filming two young bucks sparring. When they left the area two mature does approached my stand(20)yards. I decided since I had an antlerlesss bonus to take a doe. As I prepared to shoot they were looking back toward their left. I could not believe what I was seeing as I looked in the direction- THREE huge bucks traveling together. This was truly a hunters dream to pick the largest buck and hope he presents a shot. I made a short grunt using my call and stopped my selection at 22 yards and released my arrow. I felt certain I had hit my mark as he turned and ran I could see the arrow protruding behind his left shoulder.I waited a short time and left my
stand to encounter another nice buck coming toward my stand! I moved behind a tree as he passed into the woods. What more excitement could I encounter as I tracked and easily recovered an 11 pointer that field dressed 195 pounds. A morning I will never forget. Six bucks, two doe's and a trophy 11 pointer for the wall.

My good friend Brian Rice killed this wall hanger in Apache Flats, Missouri just outside of Jefferson City. It officially scored out at 178 1/4. The green score started out at 192 but some deductions were not factored in and that brought it to the respectable 178 ¼. It’s massive in any ones book but it was killed south of the Mo river making it a true Missouri Monster.
